Wendy Williams To Ink Multi-Million Dollar Deal After Sherri Shepherd Steals Show

Publish date: 2024-06-07

Wendy Williams isn’t just standing idly by as Sherri Shepherd walks away with her show. Rumors suggest that the daytime queen is close to signing a multi-million-dollar podcast deal after her show has come to a messy end as Sherri, who filled in while Wendy was on medical leave, has taken her staff and her timeslot.

According to Fox Soul, the 57-year-old talk show host is ready to ink a new deal that will get Wendy back in front of her fans. Wendy must have noticed the $100 million deal that Joe Rogan got and is taking her business to Spotify.

“The word on the street — now these are the deep deep streets — says that Wendy is working on a multi-million-dollar podcast deal,” Reynolds said on the Fox Soul show. “Now, we know that Spotify gave Joe Rogan $100 million for his podcast. So – everybody knows that you heard it first right here on Fox Soul, that I think that Wendy Williams is up to something and that’s why she’s not posting or anything. I think this is a lead-up to a bigger announcement that we’re going to see coming down the pipe on her newfound home.”

The Wendy Williams Show debuted its 13th season with its eponymous host noticeably absent as she took some time off to deal with multiple medical problems, including addiction, Graves' disease, and Covid. After months of speculation and radio silence from Wendy, her production company has canceled the show. Sherri announced on The Wendy Williams Show earlier this week that she would be taking over.

On the show, Sherri told fans: "Starting in September I am starting my own talk show!"

It looks like the move upset the legendary daytime talk show host, and sources told The Sun that the move left Wendy feeling disrespected.

“It was bad enough they canceled her show and gave Sherri her own daytime talk show, which is set to take over Wendy’s time slot. It was a total slap in the face for it to be announced on Wendy’s show and her platforms."

Reporting suggests that the many members of The Wendy Williams Show staff, including executive producers, will have a place at the retooled Sherri show. Many staffers are concerned that they’ll be out of a job.

“Everyone is sucking up to Sherri and her team so they can keep their jobs. They are all desperately trying to prove their loyalty to Sherri,” insiders told Radar. “At the moment they are saying that the entire Wendy staff will be transferred over to Sherri’s show, but there is no way Sherri isn’t going to want to bring in her own people and replace them.”

It’s unlikely that Wendy will try to bring any of her staffers from her previous show, as she reportedly vowed to fire everyone for betraying her.
