Death is inevitable for living things but it breaks our hearts to see these personalities grow old and frail with some battling deadly sicknesses.
We have compiled a list of great Nigerian and Ghanaian actors who once entertained us but are now battling degrees of sickness.
As religion dominated countries, it’ll be right to ask for prayers for these personalities but they do not need only prayers but financial support as many of these actors cannot foot their hospital bills.

Olu Jacobs – Age
Veteran actor Olu Jacobs raised eyebrows after photos and videos of him looking unwell surfaced online.
His wife, actress Joke Silva publicly spoke about the state of her husband, Olu Jacobs’ health saying Olu Jacobs has dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB).
“This has been going on for a couple of years. My husband is dealing with issues and it is been going on for a couple of years. It is known as dementia with Lewy Body,” the actress revealed in an interview with Chude Jideonwo.
“It is a degenerative disease that affects the brain and it is almost like a Parkinson type of disease, it affects the brain and affects the person.
Psalm Adjeteyfio
Veteran Ghanaian actor, Psalm Adjeteyfio, better known as T.T, opened up about his health condition in an interview in January this year.
He detailed that he has been diagnosed with an incurable heart disease and would require a heart transplant to survive.
“…I’ve been told (by doctors) that these diseases I’m suffering are incurable but managed. One doctor told me if it were in the US, I would be on the waiting list for a heart transplant because a part of my heart has refused to function. The other way out is by taking drugs. For the past three years now, I have taken over 5000 assorted tablets and capsules”
“Diabetes recently set in and I have to cope with two deadly diseases. My doctors tell me these are age-related issues,” he said in an interview with TV3’s MzGee.
He has also received a lot of cash gifts from the Vice President of Ghana Dr. Mahamudi Bawumia as well as sympathizers a few months ago.
Clem Ohameze
Nollywood veteran Clem Ohameze once shared a video of himself revealing plans of going for treatment for a critical illness that almost cost his life.
The actor said he had an accident sometime back and he was taken to the hospital. He later realised that his lower limb was affected after x-rays were conducted.
He disclosed that the result of an x-ray showed that his cervical vertebrae 3 had collapsed on 4 and it was causing a pressure on his spinal cord thereby causing the retardment of the lower limb.
He pleaded with his fans and lovers of his movies to raise their voices to the Lord and remember him in prayers.
Emeka Ani
Emeka Ani surfaced online in a video earlier this year with a plea to well-meaning Nigerians to assist him foot his hospital bills.
The talented Nollywood actor revealed that he had been battling diabetes for a while and it got severe in December 2020.
The Nollywood actor spoke from his bed at Doctor Lugard Hospital, in Owerri, Imo State, where he was receiving treatment.
‘‘Since December 7, I have been in this hospital for major surgery and after the surgery, it expanded to a very dangerous one. I thank God I’m getting better now. I’m soliciting from my people,” he said in a video.
Fortune smiled at him as actor Ani Chukwuemeka received N6 million support from the founder and senior prophet of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Warri, billionaire Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin.
Reacting to the gift, Chukwuemeka said, “I want to thank God for this wonderful gesture from the Senior Prophet of God, Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin. I am so happy. I never expected this. Even though I know that he helps people financially and otherwise. I never knew he was going to give me huge amount of money like this. I want to thank members of the church. I want to thank the prophet of God.”
Kingsley Orji
In June 2019, Nollywood actor Kinsley Orji (Egbeigwe) got involved in a ghastly motor accident that nearly took his life.
The accident damaged Kinsley Orji’s hip bone, leaving him unable to walk without the aid of crutches.
Egbeigwe has been bedridden for over two years due to the accident and he’s currently receiving treatment outside the country.
