Halle Bailey has become one of the biggest stars in recent years. She and her sister Chloe started out as singers, posting covers on YouTube and winning season 5 Radio Disney's Next Big Thing. Bailey and her sister would release music together, open for Beyonce and Jay-Z, and star on the show Grown-ish. Bailey then struck out on her own when she landed the role of Ariel in the 2023 live-action version of The Little Mermaid. Bailey recently enjoyed a Maldives trip and shared a photo of herself by the pool on Snapchat. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Halle Bailey stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

To prepare for her role in The Little Mermaid, Bailey worked with trainer Sana Shirvani. In an interview with Insider, Shirvani opened up about Bailey's training routine. She says that she didn't want the actress to burn out from exercise. "It was really important for me not to overload Halle too much, if she had a full day on the rigs/wires and in a harness, as she would get a lot of work through being on the equipment naturally."

When filming The Little Mermaid, Bailey had to learn to do some of her own stunts. She also worked out on a regular basis. She shared her training process in an interview on Live with Kelly and Mark. "When I was filming, I was in the best shape of my life," she said. "It was like, intense, every day, 4 a.m. gym, then stunts, then get in the water; it was, like, a lot."

Bailey is a big fan of hot yoga. She shared a post on Instagram of herself after a session, captioning it, "Hot yoga kicked my ass." The Cleveland Clinic states that hot yoga has some potential health benefits for those who do not overdo it. "The potential pros of hot yoga are: Increased flexibility. Muscle-building.Body-toning. Reduced stress. Detoxification. Weight loss. Reduced pain."

Bailey opened up about her skincare journey to Refinery29. She says that she learned that she has combination skin, and has to take care of it. "When I was younger, I always thought it would just remain clear because my family has really good skin; Chloë has super clear skin, as does most of my family, but my little brother and I deal with acne from time to time. So when it came to my skin care regimen, I realized that I really need to just treat my skin nice and do a really good job. And less is more when it comes to my skin — I just need a few products to target the issues. That's when I notice my skin thriving."

Bailey shared some of her favorite skincare products with Harper's Bazaar. She says that protecting her skin from the sun is important. Bailey cites the Invisible Daily Defense sunscreen from Neutrogena as a favorite. "I have learned that we do need protection from the sun. For years, I was in denial about it. What I love about that one is that it disappears right into my skin, I don't have to worry about a white cast, and I can put makeup over it."
