Liam Neeson on Natasha Richardson Death: No Condolence From Ski Resort
Lost in the mail? Liam Neeson appeared on Watch What Happens Live Thursday, Feb. 27, and revealed even more heartbreaking revelations about wife Natasha Richardson‘s 2009 death that didn’t air on his Feb. 23 interview with 60 Minutes‘ Anderson Cooper.
“Was that hard for you to do?” host Andy Cohen asked the actor of discussing his wife’s tragic death.
“It was and it wasn’t. It was time to talk about it,” the 61-year-old Non-Stop star explained. “And there were some other things I said that got edited out, that I wish had been kept in.”
“Like what?” Cohen asked.
“The ski resort where Natasha met her death . . . We got hundreds, maybe a couple thousand, sympathy cards, emails, and stuff from all over the world, especially America — not one from that ski resort,” Neeson said. “I kid you not. Not one.” Cohen’s other guest on the show, Julianna Margulies, then grabbed Neeson’s arm to comfort the actor.

Richardson, Neeson’s wife of 15 years, passed away on March 19, 2009, after suffering a head injury from a skiing accident in Montreal, Canada.
During his interview with Cooper, the Love Actually star revealed he made the difficult to decision to take Richardson off life support. “I went in to her and I told her I loved her, said ‘Sweetie, you’re not coming back from this, you’ve banged your head,'” he recalled telling his wife. “She and I had made a pact, if any of us got into a vegetative state that we’d pull the plug.”
