James Monroe Bluegrass Music Hall & Campgrounds Opening April 19
(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Bluegrass musician James Monroe will be opening a 700-seat music hall and RV campground in Franklin, Kentucky, with a special four day festival running April 19-22.
The site is only 2 miles north of the Tennessee border, about 40 minutes from Nashville. Monroe’s site was influenced by the annual Bean Blossom Music Festival in Indiana, which was started by his father, Hall of Famer Bill Monroe, in the 1960s. The annual event is the second oldest bluegrass music festival in the United States.
James Monroe’s band, the Midnight Ramblers, will perform at the music hall weekly, in conjunction with the hall’s house band. Monroe has scheduled some of the greats of Nashville bluegrass and country to appear as monthly headliners. A Christmastime show to benefit children’s charities is already in the works as well.
The grand opening celebration, called “Spring Time In Kentucky,” brings together some of the great bluegrass and gospel groups for a four-day festival. Appearing at the event will be The Midnight Ramblers, Larry Sparks Hatfield Band, Ronnie Stoneman, Logan County Band, Leroy Troy, George Riddle, Mac Wiseman, Bobby Osborne, The Sullivan Family, The Grascals, The Fritts Family, Lawrence Bishop, and many more.
Tickets are available through the James Monroe Bluegrass Music Hall and Campground website at www.jamesmonroesbluegrassmusichall.com or by phone at 270-586-7100. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
