English actress, best remembered for roles in the Carry On series of films and as Peggy Mitchell in soap opera Eastenders. She said in 2012 "I'm only 4'10"" and in her book "I pulled myself up to my full four feet ten and a half inches".

But I don't know what would have happened if I had been taller. I started off going for auditions in the chorus and they'd say, "you're too small". If I'd been any taller I'd probably have got in, and then maybe I wouldn't have done comedy.
