Experience 4th of July at the Walt Disney World Resort (& from Home!)

Whether you’re spending 4th of July at the Walt Disney World Resort or just wishing you were, we’ve got all the ways you can experience that Disney magic both in the parks and at home:

#DisneyParksLIVE Returns for July 4, 2019!

The Disney Parks Blog is once again live streaming the 4th of July fireworks from the Magic Kingdom! Celebrating Independence Day in the Magic Kingdom is such a magical experience, and we love that the Disney Parks Blog offers these opportunities to take in some of that magic right from home.

The live stream of Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky is set to begin at approximately 9:15 pm (EST), and we recommend getting your devices ready a few minutes early just to be sure you don’t miss a thing.

How to Watch & Share Your Photos

Disney is also extending this celebration to guests both in the parks and at home by sharing favorite vacation photos from guests. To get your photos in the running, simply share them on Twitter with the tag #DisneyParksLIVE.

Once available, the link to watch live will be available from this page on the Disney Parks Blog.

If you’re visiting the parks, you may be happy to hear that Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky takes place on July 3rd as well, so if you are hoping to avoid some of the holiday crowds or see the fireworks in a different park on the 4th, you can always see them in the Magic Kingdom a day early (also at 9:15 pm).

Magic Kingdom

The Magic Kingdom will also feature entertainment in Liberty Square, Frontierland, and Tomorrowland. Join the Muppets in Liberty Square for The Muppets Present… Great Moments in History. This show takes place daily above the Hall of Presidents and with a stirring reenactment of historic tales like the writing of the Declaration of Independence and Paul Revere’s Ride it’s the perfect way to celebrate Independence Day in the park.

Additional dance parties will run for the 4th of July holiday in both Frontierland and Tomorrowland. Check the My Disney Experience app or pick up a times guide in the park to confirm times for Frontierland’s Hoedown Throwdown or Tomorrowland’s Galactic Gathering!

Epcot

This is the last summer for Epcot’s IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, which means that this 4th of July will be the last chance to see the “Heartbeat of Freedom” which begins immediately after IllumiNations’ traditional finale. (IllumiNations ends its run in Epcot permanently on September 30, 2019.)

Guests in Epcot can also expect additional encounters with the Voices of Liberty, performing both in the rotunda of the American Adventure pavilion and outside at the American Gardens Theatre throughout the day. Mickey and friends will also be spending the day at the American Adventure to greet guests in their “Spirit of ’76” attire. And throughout Epcot, as well as at Disney Springs and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, expect to find patriotic treats available just for the occasion.

Beyond these events, we typically see special photo ops available only during 4th of July in Disney (especially in the Magic Kingdom near Liberty Square) though no official announcement has been made regarding holiday PhotoPass spots so far. 4th of July merchandise is also aplenty in all of the parks right now, so if you need that patriotic set of ears or a spirit jersey you won’t have any problems finding whatever you need to complete your look.
