Ella Mai releases music video for her latest single 'Trip'

Ella Mai has released the music video for her latest single ‘Trip’.

The visual begins with Ella Mai playing a vinyl of ‘Trip’, whilst she coos over the love she receives in a relationship. “Baby boy, your love, got me trippin’ on you / You know your love is big enough, make me trip up on you”, the songstress croons over the irresistible RnB beat.

The dimly lit visual adds to the sultry, old school vibe of the song and captures the emotion perfectly. ‘Trip’ is another example of why Ella Mai is one to watch in the industry and is destined for great things.

Since its release in August, ‘Trip’ has garnered over 19 million streams on Spotify and is currently sitting at number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track follows in the footsteps of Ella Mai’s record breaking single ‘Boo’d Up’ which spent an impressive 19 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. Ella Mai became the first British female to top the US R&B chart since Lisa Stanfield in 1992 and also topped three of the US’ biggest radio charts, the first female to do so since Beyoncé in 2012.

Ella Mai will be continuing her stellar year by performing at BBC 1 XTRA Live on September 22nd at London’s O2 Arena. She will also be joining Bruno Mars on various dates during the US leg of his 24K Magic World Tour, kicking off with Brooklyn on October 4.
