Does Logan Paul Have Any Tattoos?
The Paul brothers are Youtube dynamos, well known if not for their content then for their proclivity for controversy. Jake Paul in particular is decorated with tattoos, but what of his brother, Logan?
Logan Paul only has one tattoo, the design for the tattoo that he chose is a character from the Japanese franchise Pokémon, named Squirtle. He documented himself getting the tattoo in a vlog.
Getting a tattoo can be a daunting prospect, you know going into it that there’s going to be a certain amount of pain and suffering required before you have your finished result. For some, they will want to have some meaning behind the tattoo to make it worth the pain, for others like Logan, they simply like the design or the idea.
Logan Paul’s Squirtle Tattoo
If you aren’t at all familiar with the globally popular Pokémon franchise, and the animated shows and video games that it has inspired, then you’ll probably have a set of questions on your mind that desperately need answering.
Questions like “What’s Pokémon?”, or “What in the world is a Squirtle?”
Logan is a part of a generation that grew up around the Pokémon franchise, falling in love with a colorful cast of characters and the creative creatures that inhabit the world around them.
With that extremely brief introduction that hopefully helps to inform anyone who’s in the dark about what Pokémon are, we can get to the meat of why Logan chose to get a Squirtle tattooed on his body.
Apparently, it perfectly encapsulates his personality!
Even for the most diehard of Pokémon fans, a tattoo of one, and Squirtle of all the options, might seem a little bit extreme. In the video of him getting the tattoo, he’s talking with his brother and the tattoo artists about the concept of getting a tattoo that has some sort of meaning to you.
It’s a little hard to tell whether he’s lampshading the fact that it’s a little ridiculous to get a random Squirtle tattoo, or if he’s being genuine, but immediately after extolling the virtues of getting a meaningful tattoo he describes his reasoning for getting it as being the fact that “he grew up with it.”
Perhaps even more worrying if you were a fan of Pokemon and wanted to get the most accurate representation possible in your tattoo, was the fact that one of the tattoo artists himself didn’t see him too brushed up on his Pokemon knowledge.
Any fears caused by that were completely put to rest, however, when the other tattoo artist revealed that he himself also had a tattoo of a Squirtle. Those fears are completely dissolved when he finally sees the tattoo that has been designed for him.
Not only is it a Squirtle in all of its glory, but it’s also got the signature Squirtle Squad sunglasses on. Definitely the coolest, slickest version of the little guy.
Even though it’s a fine tattoo choice, you’d think that he might have gone for his signature Maverick logo instead.
Tattoo Inspiration
Over the course of the video, it’s made clear that the inspiration for the tattoo was Logan’s brother, Jake. Jake is a veteran when it comes to getting tattoos, sporting multiple designs all over his body, including a sleeve on one of his arms.
Despite the reckless kind of encouragement going on at the beginning of the video, a recklessness that Logan himself admits, he doesn’t seem to be questioning the decision to get a tattoo at all and has completely made up his mind.
That is until Jake politely reminds Logan of the fact that the tattoo is permanent. He really focuses on Logan when he says it too, like he’s taking that moment to be sober about the fact that there really is no going back.
The Result
Sadly we never really get to see the result of his tattoo in its full glory. One possible complication during a tattoo is that the tattoo area becomes infected in any way, which leads to it scabbing over.
The result is a tattoo with faded lines, that can be kind of difficult to easily see. Logan seems disappointed but vows to get the tattoo touched up and fixed next time he’s near the tattoo artists again.
