Publish date: 2024-06-07

BTS star Jimin, has unveiled his much-anticipated second solo album, ‘MUSE’.

Serving as the follow up to the singers debut solo album, ‘FACE’ (which dropped last year) the record continues Jimin’s exploration of self-discovery, delving into themes of love and inspiration.

Jimin, who took the lead in the overall production, presents an expanded musical palette across the projects seven tracks which include ‘Rebirth (Intro)’, ‘Interlude: Showtime’, ‘Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco)’, ‘Slow Dance (feat. Sofia Carson)’, ‘Be Mine’, ‘Who’ and ‘Closer Than This’, all of which narrate a journey of searching for, and sometimes losing one’s way in the pursuit of genuine love.

Jimin’s involvement in songwriting for six of the tracks highlights his versatile talent, blending sentimental vocals with contemporary, dance-heavy beats. The album features a notable lineup of producers such as Pdogg, GHSTLOOP, EVAN, Jon Bellion, Tommy Brown, Pete Nappi, and Tenroc. Collaborations with South Korean rapper Loco and multi-platinum singer and actress Sofia Carson add a unique charm to the album, which marks a shift from the solo performances seen in “FACE.”

The lead single, “Who,” epitomises the essence of “MUSE.” With its energetic bounce and guitar-driven melody, the track exudes an R&B and hip-hop vibe reminiscent of the early 2000s. The lyrics capture the emotions of longing for an unknown love, juxtaposed against a vigorous beat, creating a captivating contrast. Jimin’s smooth vocals, paired with intricate acoustic guitar instrumentals, ensure the track’s catchy appeal. “Who” stands out as a trendy reinterpretation of retro sounds, poised to become a defining hit in today’s pop scene.

“MUSE” is available on all major streaming platforms.

Fans can look forward to more album-related content in the coming weeks, including Jimin’s first television performance of “Who” on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on 23 July KST.
